Thirty minutes outside of Santa Fe, you will come across a Natural History Department of Botanical Wonders: the hut of the SeedShaman, also known as Richard Solomon. "Every seed has a story to tell...the 'story' of the earth. My work is a return to art's first canvas - the earth - and to the planet’s original storytellers: the seeds. I have learned that every seed has a story to tell. The 'story' of the earth. The plant materials I collect in various stages of their life cycle were all once seeds. From beginning to end, each piece, like the seed, evokes a spirit and connection with Mother Earth."

Some of the original pieces are available for sale, but for most of us, his ilfochrome and giclee reproductions of his works are perfect for framing.
